Letter.

I am writing you in regards to an opportunity that has been offered to Betsye and I by the Lord. As Cross Cultural Ministry Majors at Greenville College one of the graduation requirements is to fulfill an internship. We have talked with VISA (Volunteers In Service Abroad) ministries, the missions program off of the Free Methodist church. They have offered us an opportunity to spend 2 months in Nairobi, Kenya. The dates of this trip will be May 30- July 27, 2009.

While in Nairobi we will be working with a school in the Kibera Slum. Kibera is the largest slum in Africa with 1.2 million people. For some time now I have had a heart for Africa and its’ people. We are asking you to support us in this trip.
Ways to support:

1. The most important way to support us is through your prayers. I know through your support the Lord will work through us.

2. Another way is through financial support. I am coming to you humbly asking for your support again. The cost of the trip will be $4,500. This amount includes: Airfare, living expenses, and a visa. Some of the funds will also go to the groups I’ll be working with those who lack the resources to support us while we serve with them.

The deadline which I am facing for raising the funds is May 20, 2009. For more information about VISA, visit their website at www.visaministries.org. I am most grateful for any assistance you can offer.
